Alberto is a lawyer with more than ten years of experience in Ecuadorian business law, in both transactional and contentious matters. His practice encompasses a diversity of sectors, such as energy, construction, financial services, consumer goods, agriculture and manufacture. He is also a legal scholar, having taught at various Ecuadorian law schools and published peer-reviewed articles in national and international legal journals.
He has worked in some of the largest and most prestigious national law firms, advising on points of public and private law in domestic and international arbitrations. He has represented clients in complex antitrust and unfair competition cases before local and Andean Community regulators. He has also participated in the design and implementation of compliance programs related to antitrust and economic regulation risk management, as well as having been involved in a number of merger control notification procedures.
Moreover, he has intervened in all kinds of corporate transactions such as joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and the negotiation of all sorts of commercial agreements.
