The Ministry of Labor, by means of Agreement Nr. MDT-2025-164, dated October 28, 2025, established the guidelines for the payment of the thirteenth remuneration to public servants and private sector workers.
The Agreement stipulates that employees and workers of the Executive Branch who choose to receive the thirteenth remuneration on an accumulated basis shall receive the payment until November 14, 2025. Those who receive it on a monthly basis must also collect the amounts corresponding to November and December before or on that date. Public entities outside the Executive Branch may make the payment from the effective date of the agreement, according to their budget availability.
Private employers may optionally anticipate the total payment of the bonus as from the entry into force of the aforementioned Ministerial Agreement.
Finally, the Agreement establishes that if a worker or employee terminates the labor relationship before having earned the total of the thirteenth salary, the corresponding amount must be included in the salary liquidation.
